Promoting children's language development through play

Whether singing, telling stories or asking questions - language is a central tool for children's development and permeates their daily activities. It is essential for children to explore their environment and to understand and articulate social and emotional aspects of life. This is exactly where beleduc's educational games come in and promote language, non-verbal communication, writing and the use of different media. Children can play the games with each other or together with teachers.

Games at beleduc are geared towards six educational areas: Artistic, somatic, social, mathematical, linguistic and scientific education. In the educational area of language, communication between children is encouraged and vocabulary is expanded. Children engage in conversation and communicate through play.

Role-playing games can promote language development in particular. During role play, children immerse themselves in fantastic worlds and can develop their social and emotional skills alone or in a group. Role play also promotes communication and imagination and supports children's personal development. With the interactive play school or the action theater and the matching hand puppets, children immerse themselves in other worlds as a group. They assign roles to each other and strengthen their language and social skills.

Find Monty

Find Monty is an excellent game to promote spatial perception, memory and language development. It is fun and playful and trains the ability to formulate words and vocabulary. The basic directions left and right are learned. In particular, the use of prepositions (positional words such as “on”, “under”, “next to”, “in front of”) is practiced. “Find Monty” is therefore also ideal for foreign language or integration lessons and for use in speech therapy.

The matching puzzles from beleduc with themes relating to shapes and colors, science or people and their living environment divide complex content into the most important components. HUMANICO “Professions” also encourages children to tell stories and ask questions.

Play-based language activities integrated into everyday life expand children's vocabulary and also prepare them for the transition to elementary school.
