Tricky Wall

An exciting game of skill for calm fingers!

Age:                          4 to 99 years

Players:                    2 to 5

Contents:                  25 wooden bricks

Game idea:               Odet L’Homer

Illustrations:              Monika Mulzer-Adam

Aim of the game:

Who’ll be the first to build all his bricks into the crazy wall?

Game Preparation:

At the beginning of the game all wooden bricks are placed in the centre of the table and mixed well. All players now take the same number of bricks in

turn. When there are only 2 players; each takes 12 bricks; when there are 3 players, each takes 8; when there are 4 players, each takes 6 and

when there are 5 players, each takes 5 bricks. If one brick is left over, it is placed in an upright position in the centre of the table.

The first player to take a brick begins the game and places one of his bricks in an upright position at the starting brick If there is no starting brick there, he places it in an upright position in the centre of the table. It is now the next player’s turn and he places one of his bricks directly beside the first brick. And so it continues, each in turn.

Once there are 4 bricks in a row, the next player must start to build the wall upwards, i.e. there may not be more than 4 bricks beside each other in the first row. Once there are 4 there, the bricks must be built upwards.

They must be placed in such a way that they are as close as possible to each other. If you have already touched a brick, you have to use it in the same go. However, the bricks which have been built into the wall already may not be touched again during the game, of course.

If a player lets one or more bricks fall when he is placing one into the wall, he must pick up the fallen bricks. He may place one of these bricks back into the wall immediately however and to do so, he extends one of the sides of the wall so that there are now 5 or more bricks in the first row.

Note:

If a brick shifts position while it is being placed but does not fall down, the wall must remain in the new position, ... which makes it all the harder for the

next player. With younger players, the game can also be played with 5 bricks in the first row.

The winner is the first player to have built all his bricks into the tricky wall.

Have a lot of fun with this exciting wall building game!
