Honey Bear

There is a lot of lively activity on the large brightly coloured wildflower meadow. The bees in particular are busy collecting honey blossoms. Unfortunately, they are not alone because the honey bear is also very partial to these honey blossoms and for that reason the bees need a bit of luck with the dice also.

An action-packed game to develop colour recognition.

Not only children like sweet honey, a lot of animals do too and the honey bear is one of them. So, it is not always easy for the bees to collect the honey blossoms.

If the bear is lucky and can collect more blossoms than a bee, he wins the game and all other players have lost to him.

Game preparation:

First, all 40 wooden flowers are spread out on the table in brightly coloured disarray. Each player now picks a honey bee and the large blossom is filled with the stamen and placed in the centre. The honey bear is also placed in the middle of the playing surface.

Rules of the game:

The youngest child begins and pulls a stamen from the large flower. The bee with the same colour as the stamen may now take a blossom in her colour. If an off-white-coloured stamen is pulled, the bee is lucky and may take a blossom in her own colour. It is now the second player’s turn and he takes the dice with symbols. The player throws the dice and the symbol that comes up shows whether a bee or the honey bear can take a blossom. The player then pulls a stamen and depending on the colour pulled, the bee takes the same colour of blossom, providing the bee has come up on the dice. However, if the honey bear comes up on the dice, the bee with the colour of the pulled stamen must give a blossom to the honey bear. If the off-white stamen appears when pulled, the player may pick out a bee and that bee must give a blossom he has already collected to the honey bear. However, it’s tough luck for the honey bear if the bee has not collected any blossoms already.

Once a stamen has been pulled, the large flower with the stamen is turned a bit and so it is not so easy to remember the position of the individual stamens.

End of the game:

The game ends as soon as one of the bees has gathered the last blossom of her colour. The winner is the bee that has collected the most honey blossoms, because she is the most industrious bee. Or did the honey bear manage to get the most blossoms in the end??

Have a lot of fun on our brightly coloured wildflower meadow!
