Sarah and Timmi are going off on their holidays. Both are very excited because they are going to sail on a large white ship over the wide blue ocean to get there. The captain of the ship told them that Lagunera was a few little islands with a single lighthouse. He said the weather was always lovely there and that you could see the most beautiful fish imaginable in the clear water in the blue lagoon. Sarah and Timmi don’t want to miss the chance to go diving and look at the fish. The minute they arrive, they unpack their swimming things and jump into the warm water, where they find themselves immersed immediately in the brightly-coloured underwater world.......

Game preparation:

The lighthouse is set up in the middle of the board.

Each player chooses one of the coloured fish and also takes a blue lagoon, 1 glass ball and 1 metal ball. The fish is put over one of the two balls. Before starting the game, the players decide which ball should be used for playing. The metal ball makes the game more difficult, because it rolls faster. The coloured starfish are placed in the centre of the table.

Rules of the Game:

The youngest child begins and spins the arrow on the lighthouse. The arrow now points now to one of the board’s coloured edge lines and the player with that colour fish may begin. He takes his fish and the agreed ball, puts the ball into the fish and places ball and fish near the hole edged with his colour.

Now he spins the arrow on the lighthouse and must try to move his ball into the hole with the colour the arrow is pointing to. That is done by taking the playing board in both hands and carefully manoeuvring the fish in the right direction by making tilting and turning movements. If the player manages to sink his ball into the correct hole, he may pick up a starfish with that colour and place it into his lagoon. He now removes his fish with ball off the board and places it in front of himself. It is now the next player’s turn.

Note:

If the player already has a starfish in the colour the lighthouse points to when spinned, he may spin the lighthouse arrow again. If the arrow still doesn’t point to a colour he needs, he forfeits the go.

If the player does not manage to sink his ball into the correct hole and if instead the ball lands in a hole with another colour, his turn is over and it is the next player’s go.

If the ball becomes stranded on an island, that player’s turn is over and the player must place one of his starfish back onto the table, if he has already collected one.

The winner is the first to fill his lagoon with a starfish in each colour.

Have a lot of fun in the exciting underwater world!
