dice with symbols
A hectic and spirited hullabaloo can be heard in the
chicken coop. The chickens are hungry
and can’t find the quick and agile earthworms fast
enough.
To put an end to the screeching, the mother hens help
their little ones look for earthworms in
the many holes in the ground.
Aim of the Game:
The winner is the first to feed his/her chickens with
earthworms so that they are full.
Game preparation:
Each player is given a chicken. If there are only two
players, each can take 2 chickens.
4 earthworms (cords) of the same colour, i.e.
2 small ones
1 middle-sized one
1 long one,
are put into the holes in the ground.
How to Play:
The youngest player begins
the game by throwing the dice. If (s)he throws a coloured
earthworm, (s)he may choose
a hole in the ground and look to see if the colour of the
earthworms inside is the
same as the colour that came up on the dice. If (s)he has opened the
right hole, (s)he can pull
out a worm and feed it to his/her chickens. If (s)he has opened a hole
where the earthworms are not
the same colour as the colour on the dice or if the hole is empty,
it is the next player’s turn.
If a rain cloud comes up when the dice is thrown, the player pulls an earthworm out of
any hole (s)he likes. Earthworms always crawl out of the earth w hen it rains and in our
game this means that they creep out and lie down beside the box, where they stay for
the time being.
If the sun comes up when the dice is thrown, the worms cannot creep away so quickly
and the player may take all the earthworms that have already crept out of the holes in
the ground and feed them to the chickens. If however there are no worms beside the
box, (s)he may take any earthworm out of one of the holes.
The winner is the first child to have a full chicken,
i.e. when the chicken’s tummy is full of
cords.
Have a lot of fun feeding the little chickens!
