Game
Idea:
Every
night it is the star children’s job to send sweet dreams to the little boys and
girls on earth. They do this by collecting a lot of little dream stars on the
cloud meadow. Now and again they come across a shooting star … and as we all
know, any one who finds a shooting star may make a wish, ... and the same
applies to the star children.
In
the meantime the night runs its course: the moon climbs slowly up the Jacob’s
ladder up to the highest rung and then goes down the other side again. Once it
arrives back on the cloud meadow, sunlight shines on the earth once again and
the sky children look and see how many stars they were able to collect on their
tour for the earth children.
Who
has collected the most little stars?
-
A matter of luck“, says the moon, who now well rested takes his leave and
starts off on his round again over the night-time sky.
Game
preparation:
The
Jacob’s ladder is set up on the large cloud, which forms the centre of the
game, and the small clouds are arranged around the Jacob’s ladder in the form
of an orbital path, whereby the cloud with the star symbol serves as the
starting field. The stars are now distributed on the large cloud around the
Jacob’s ladder, the motif cards are mixed and laid face down in a stack beside
the cloud.
Once
each player has chosen a colour, the sky children are put on the starting
field. Now each child needs 2 little stars as a starting aid. At last it is
time to throw the dice. The youngest player starts first.
How
to Play:
The players take turn in clockwise direction to throw the dice and advance along the orbital path according to the number thrown. Each player also takes a motif card from the stack before the next player takes his turn and acts according to the motif shown:
Card
with 1, 2 or 3 stars:
The
child picks up the corresponding number of stars.
Card
with moon:
The
child moves the moon up one rung on the ladder.
Card
with shooting star:
The
child “wishes for” the number 1 , 2 or 3 , says this out loud and then throws
the dice. If the number he wished for comes up, he takes 2 stars. If the dice
shows a different number, he has to take one star out of his collection and
place it under the Jacob’s ladder.
When
a child draws a card, he/she places it face up in front of him/her and each
next card he/she draws is placed on top of the last, forming a stack.
Whenever
a player travelling on his round on the cloud meadow crosses the starting
field, he collects another star. The game is over when the moon arrives on the
other side of the ladder.
Then
each child counts the stars he/she has collected. The child who has the most
stars and is therefore best able to distribute dreams is the winner.
Have
a lot of fun collecting stars!
