This
exciting and instructive search for twins from many countries around the world
develops visual perception and memory skills and also arouses interest in other
cultures.
Age:
4+
Number of
players: 2-10
Contents:
40 wooden cards
This matching game shows children from cold northern Alaska and warm southern Africa; from a western country, for example France, and from an eastern country, for example Arabia. All our children would like to get to know each other and our game offers them various possibilities to do so, depending on their age.
Two cards
form a pair. The background colour shows if the two go together, because the
“twins” are not identical. In each case the twins are a girl and a boy from the
same country.
Version 1:
For smaller
children, it is easier to mix the cards first with the pictures facing upwards
on a table. In this version, it is more fun if all the players search at the
same time.
The winner
is the one to find the most pairs.
Version 2:
All cards
are mixed and spread out over the table face down. Each player in turn now
upturns 2 cards. If they form a pair, the player may place them down in front
of him. However, if they do not form a pair, both cards are placed face down
again and it’s the next player’s turn. Who will find the most pairs?
Version 3:
For older
children the game starts as in version 2 but as soon as a pair is found, the
child should name the country the pair comes from and say something
characteristic about that country, for example name an animal from that country
or something the people eat there or what kind of homes the people have.
The level
of difficulty can be increased by having the children find the respective
country in a map of the world.
So, let’s
go … we wish you a lot of fun looking for twin pairs!
